A Preliminary Assessment of IS Distribution in Available Bacterial Genomes. In the majority of cases, the IS elements indicated were located from the available annotations of transposase. a indicates genomes analyzed in detail by us. The correct family assignment for ISs identified by their annotations was confirmed and those whose annotations did not assign them to a family were analyzed and identified. Total number of copies is indicated between square brackets together with those that are only partial copies, indicated by a lower case "p", where known. Not all genomes have yet been analyzed at this level. In the case of the IS200/IS605/IS607 complex, IS200 indicates that only orfA is present.
