ISPpr1 is 66% aa similar to IS10A.
ISPpr1 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the IS10R transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-63-D(N3)-127-E(C1). The copy number in Photobacterium profundum SS9 is 8 : 1 copy lying on chromosome 1 and 7 on chromosome 2.
