ISNpu5 is 87% aa similar to IS701. ISNpu5 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the IS701 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-88-D(N3)-114-E(C1). The chromosome sequencing of Nostoc punctiforme PCC 73102 is currently in progress.
