ISPam1 is 80% aa similar to ISPko1.
ISPam1 has been identified by its integration to the entrapment vectors pEBB10 (sacB cassette) and pCM132TC (promoter-less tetA cassette). ISPam1 carries sequence 5’-GCTGGTGG-3’ (position 417) identical to the Chi sites, which specify the place of action for RecBCD nuclease. As judged from DNA hybridization analysis ISPam1 is present in 3 copies in P. aminophilus JCM 7686. Homologous sequences were detected by DNA hybridization in P. alcaliphilus JCM 7364, P. alkenifer DSM 11593, P. methylutens DM12, P. pantotrophus DSM 11072, P. pantotrophus LMD 82.5, P. thiocyanatus JCM 20756 and P. versutus UW1.
