The third ORF is a putative ORFAB transposase reconstructed in silico by a possible -1 frameshift.
ISPbe1 has been identified by its transposition into entrapment vector pMEC1 (cI-tetA cassette). At position 326, ISPbe1 carries a sequence 5'-AAAAAAT-3' that might function as a -1 translational frameshifting site. ISPbe1 contains a sequence 5’-GCTGGTCG-3’ (position 487) matching (1 mismatch) the Chi site, which specify the place of action for RecBCD nuclease.
