Occurence: Only 5 of 197 Enterococci screened were positive for this IS element. Typing by PFGE showed possible relatedness between the 5 hosts. These 5 strains had one copy of the IS element which were located at the exact same target site in the intergenic region between vanS and vanY in VanB-type vancomycin resistance gene cluster.
